The present study aimed to investigate the anti- inflammatory activity of the aloe vera ethanolic extract (L.) Burm. f. (family aphodelaceace) used induced carrageenan. Carrageenan injection can stimulate the release of inflammatory mediators. Excessive secretion of several inflammatory mediators increases the synthesis of prostaglandin E2 (PGEZ). Aloe vera gel water extract inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis in rats after being induced by carrageenan. Aims: To determine the anti- inflammatory effect of Aloe vera ethanolic extract (AVEE) and its comparison with aspirin on volume paw edema and percent inhibition in male rats after being induced by carrageenan.
